We all have our favorite meals but a recent YouGov survey just dropped a map showing the foods Americans really cannot stand. It is super interesting to see what people across the country try to avoid at dinnertime. Let us look at the nine foods that made the top of the dislike list.
Liver Takes The Number One Spot Everywhere

Liver ranked as the absolute most disliked food across the West Midwest and Northeast regions because of its strong bitter flavor. Some people do enjoy it for the vitamins but about forty percent of folks surveyed said they completely hate seeing it on their plate.
The South Really Dislikes Anchovies And Sardines

The southern states actually broke away from the rest of the map and decided that tiny oily fish are their biggest food enemy. They might be packed with healthy fats but the strong salty taste just does not sit right with a lot of people down south.
Chitterlings Bring Up Some Texture Issues

Chitterlings made the list of heavily disliked foods which probably comes down to how they are prepared and their unique texture. I know many families love serving them for traditional dinners but they are definitely an acquired taste that not everyone is ready to try.
Tofu Continues To Be Highly Divisive

A lot of Americans still say they strongly dislike tofu even though plant based eating is getting so popular right now. It usually takes on the flavor of whatever you cook it with but the soft spongy feel is just a bit too weird for some eaters.
Squid Gets Avoided At The Seafood Table

Seafood can be tricky and squid is one of those dishes that scares off plenty of hungry people at restaurants. Unless it is heavily fried up as calamari the rubbery bite makes it a tough sell for the average diner looking for a simple meal.
Oysters Are Definitely Not For Everyone

Slurping down raw oysters is seen as a fancy experience by some but they ranked really high on the national dislike list. The slimy texture and salty ocean taste can be way too much for someone who just wants a normal piece of fish.
Brussels Sprouts Face A Tough Crowd

Even though fancy restaurants are tossing them in bacon and honey these little green vegetables are still super polarizing across the country. They can taste a little bitter if you just boil them so it makes sense why so many adults still push them around their plate.
Basic Condiments Like Mayonnaise Get Hated On

You would think basic sandwich spreads are safe but mayonnaise actually has a huge group of haters who cannot stand the sight of it. Pickles and mustard also showed up on the survey proving that even simple toppings can ruin a perfectly good lunch for somebody.
Olives Inspire Some Very Intense Reactions

The survey showed that people either completely love olives or they absolutely despise them with zero middle ground to be found. They have such a strong salty kick that you usually know right away if you want them in your salad or tossed in the trash.
