Even fresh bouquet roses are regarded as the temporal beauty, which is nice to be enjoyed within a few days and be discarded without any further thought. And time made me realize that those of such weak stems also live, and have a memory and possibilities far beyond the vase. Every bouquet is a narrative, it is a feast, a show of courtesy, or a thankful deed that is internal. Selling the roses always seemed to me an early ending of the tale. The bouquet rose can be turned into the living flower that can be reused with the help of minimum care and patience and carry its message. It is not just practical to rescue them, but highly personal, and makes something momentary into something enduring and consistent. Bouquet rose plants make me remember that the majority of the things we consider as temporary are waiting to be re-utilized.
The reward of bouquet roses to save

The bouquet roses are usually well-grown plants that are taken to be beautiful and long lasting. Most of these stems are hard enough to form roots once they are cut even though they have been cut. Their salvaging makes them emotionally attached, since all the roses are live memories of a moment that was meaningful rather than a moment of immediate appreciation and loss.
Choosing the right stems

You must seek those that are hard and soft, and that are green, and not timber and sappy. The best stems are of the thickness of the pencil. Shun branches that are still of a yellowish tinge or a shrivelled upness, since there is not strength in them to strike roots.
Preparing the cuttings

First remove the head of the flower, which attracts energy which is required by the roots. Cut the stem into bits, the length of which is not much more than six or eight inches, and cut directly underneath a leaf node, and strip off all the leaves as much as you can, and leave one or two leaves on the top to preserve the moisture.
Encouraging root growth

Rooting hormone can increase the success, however, it is optional. Natural alternatives are sometimes taken such as aloe vera gel or honey. The planting must be in well drained soil with at least one node covered. Stomp the soil to make sure that the stem is not moved around.
Creation of the right environment

The planted stem should be covered with a transparent bottle or loose plastic bag which is recommended to trap moisture. Set it in the light which is bright and oblique. The ground must neither be too wet nor too dry to the point of rotting.
Becoming tolerant of the process

The roots grow after some time (a few weeks) time. During this stage, do not move and look at the cutting very often. When the roots have been made, cover off must be removed slowly to enable the plant to acclimatise to the normal air conditions.
Home care and organ replacement

Several months later the rose can be relocated to a large pot or garden. Select an open and sunny spot. The plant grows strong and healthy with time through regular watering, occasional soft pruning and feeding.
Why I keep doing it

To make the roses grow into the garden, it is necessary to change the temporary beauty of flowers into the permanent one. The flowers have the memory of the very source hence rendering the plant so worthwhile as compared to the nursery purchased one. It is also a reminder that an expression of beauty is not terminated with the fall of the petals.
