The 1940 Barbecue Era
You might be really surprised to learn that the very first location actually focused on barbecue style food instead of burgers. I think that is a pretty cool concept even though a lot of folks probably prefer the classic burgers we have today.

This was the very first new item added to the national menu and it was created to give people a good fish option. A lot of people really love the soft bun and tartar sauce combination while others usually stick to the beef patties which is totally understandable.

They created this special green drink to celebrate St Patricks Day and it originally had a lemon and lime flavor instead of mint. I think the mint flavor they use today is pretty refreshing but that original citrus idea sounds very interesting to try at least once.

This gave people a bigger beef patty option with fresh onions and pickles on a sesame seed bun. Upgrading to add cheese cost just ten extra cents back then and it really hits the spot if you have a bigger appetite.

They started blending candy pieces right into their soft serve ice cream and it was an instant hit with dessert fans. Having candy mixed in is a really fun texture although sometimes a plain ice cream cone is just as good on a hot summer day.
