You might think Vegas is only about casinos and fancy shows. The truth is that this city has many secret places waiting for you. You can find quiet parks or strange museums that are very interesting. Most travelers never leave the main street so they miss out. These hidden activities prove that Vegas is a great place for everyone to explore and enjoy.
The Neon Museum
This is where old Vegas signs go when casinos get knocked down and it is super cool to see the history up close. Walking through at night with everything lit up is a really different vibe than being inside a loud casino on the main strip.
Pinball Hall Of Fame
It is basically a giant warehouse filled with hundreds of old pinball machines and arcade games that all still work. You can play them for just a few quarters so it is a cheap and fun way to spend a couple of hours away from the slots.
Downtown Container Park
You will find a unique shopping center made from old cargo boxes with a massive metal bug guarding the entrance. The spot feels very welcoming for children thanks to the tall play area. Musicians often play on the stage which makes the whole place feel peaceful.
Secret Pizza
Located inside the Cosmopolitan hotel this pizza place has no sign so you have to walk down a long hallway lined with old records to find it. I thought the pizza was actually pretty decent for a late-night snack but I know other people might have different opinions on what makes a great slice of pizza so it is just my polite opinion.
The Underground Speakeasy
Found in the basement of the Mob Museum this place takes you back to the Prohibition days with old-school drinks and artifacts. You usually need a password to get in through the side door which makes the whole experience feel like you are in on a cool secret.
Valley Of Fire State Park
If you can drive about an hour outside the city you will see these absolutely amazing red sandstone formations that look like another planet. It is a great place to get some hiking in and the colors on the rocks during sunset are really something else completely.
The Arts District
A lot of locals hang out here and it is full of unique shops and street art galleries and vintage clothing stores. If you visit on the first Friday of the month they have a big festival with food trucks and local craft vendors which I always think is a great time.
Seven Magic Mountains
This is a massive colorful art installation right in the middle of the desert along the highway headed toward California. It is definitely weird seeing bright stacks of giant rocks surrounded by nothing but brown sand but it is a perfect spot for quick photos.
Omega Mart
This is part interactive art display and part psychedelic grocery store that is completely wild to walk through. It is kind of hard to explain but you find secret passages behind products and it feels very surreal the whole time you are exploring inside it.
Bellagio Conservatory And Botanical Gardens
While the hotel is famous this indoor garden area changes every single season and the flower displays they build are truly incredible. Millions of fresh flowers are used to create these huge scenes and walking through here always makes me feel relaxed even with all the crowds around.
