There are other plants which may be quite pretty and lead to serious skin rashes or health problems when one comes in contact with them. Such species are responded to by animals and insects and they can defend themselves through the use of chemicals. In the worst scenarios where sap enters into the cut, the consequences are rashes and blisters or eye irritation. You are also supposed to know how to identify such plants to ensure that you are safe in the garden, on a hike or whatever you may be doing outdoors. The fear is not the case but the awareness as most of the issues come about when the people work with the unknown plants without protection. In case of contact, reactions can be decreased by washing the area with soap and water and medical consultations should be pursued in case of serious reactions.
Poison Ivy

Poison Oak

Oleander

Oleander is an ornamental plant that is highly toxic such that an individual would not be able to survive after consumption as well as the sap causing skin rashes.
Castor Bean Plant

It is also known to have tough leaves and tough toxin in its seed which has ricin. In the example of healthy plants, it is not normally dangerous, but the injured seeds are. The seed pods should not be left in the hands of children and should not be handled by them.
Safety Reminder

There should never be touching of suspicious vegetation using white hands. The gardening must be conducted using gloves, outdoor activities must be cleaned and the hands easily not rubbed against the eyes after touching the plants.
