I Visited Disney World, and These 10 Things Definitely Felt Like a Waste of Money

Going to Disney World is a dream vacation for many families but the costs can add up incredibly fast. Some purchases inside the parks simply do not offer enough value for your hard earned money. I recently went to Disney World and let me tell you my wallet is crying right now. There is so much magic but also so many ways to get totally scammed. Here are ten things that felt like a complete waste of money.

Paying Five Bucks for Basic Bottled Water

I honestly could not believe they charge almost five dollars for a tiny bottle of normal water. You can literally just walk up to any quick service spot and ask for a free cup of ice water instead of getting scammed like that.

Adding the Expensive Park Hopper Ticket

Everyone thinks they are going to visit three parks in one single day but the Florida heat will absolutely destroy those plans. Upgrading your ticket just to realize you are too tired to leave the first park is basically throwing your hard earned money straight in the trash.

Dropping Cash on Terrible Quick Service Food

I love a good snack but spending almost twenty five bucks on a soggy hot dog is crazy to me. The food at some of these spots is honestly one star quality and you are way better off bringing your own snacks into the park.

Shelling Out for Premium Preferred Hotel Rooms

The booking app tries to make you pay way extra just to have a hotel room that is slightly closer to the main lobby. Unless you really hate walking an extra two minutes you are just burning cash that you could easily spend on cool rides instead.

Buying Overpriced Souvenirs Inside the Park

Those plastic bubble wands and Mickey ears cost an absolute fortune inside the actual theme park gates. You can go online before your trip and buy the exact same fun stuff for literally half the price.

Falling for the Prepaid Dining Plans

It sounds super smart to prepay for all your meals but you end up rushing around trying to eat enough just to break even. Most families end up leaving food credits behind and the mouse basically gets to keep your extra cash for nothing.

Booking a Super Expensive Deluxe Resort

Some of the most expensive hotels on the property do not even have the best transportation to the actual parks. Paying double the price of a normal resort just to sit and wait for a crowded bus all morning is definitely not worth the premium price tag.

Buying the Unlimited Memory Maker Photo Package

Spending almost two hundred bucks for professional park pictures sounds great until you realize you only actually like one or two photos. It is way cheaper to just buy the couple of pictures you actually want or simply ask a cast member to use your own phone.

Paying Full Price for the Shortened Party Days

Sometimes you buy a regular park ticket and realize the park closes early for a special holiday party. You end up paying full price for half a day and they expect you to pay double just to stay and enjoy the rest of the night.

Buying Lightning Lane Passes Too Late

Waiting in line all day is the worst but buying a pass when all the good rides are already sold out is even worse. You drop the money thinking you are going to skip everything but you just end up getting fast passes for rides nobody actually wants to go on.
