I Compared 13 Mayonnaise Brands and I Wouldn’t Recommend This One to Anyone

Mayonnaise is that one condiment we all buy without thinking too much about it. But finding the right spread for your sandwich really changes the game. I sat down and tasted thirteen different brands to see which ones are actually good and which one you should definitely leave on the shelf.

Kraft Real Mayo Is the Absolute Worst

This one claims to be real mayo on the label but the bright white color and weird airy texture just do not feel right at all. It honestly lacks that classic eggy flavor you want and I really would not recommend this brand to anyone unless you are just mixing it into a heavy dip where you cannot taste it.

McCormick Mayonnaise With Lime Juice

They decided to use lime juice instead of regular lemon and while that sounds pretty fun it just makes the flavor a bit too heavy and weird. The texture leaves a slick film on your tongue so it is probably only good for making street corn and nothing else.

Mikes Amazing Real Mayonnaise

The name says it is amazing but honestly the flavor is pretty dull and you mostly just taste plain oil and regular white vinegar. It spreads really nice on bread though so it works fine if you have picky eaters who hate strong flavors.

Whole Foods 365 Organic Mayonnaise

This organic option is surprisingly cheap and uses cage free eggs which is really cool for your grocery budget. The only downside is that the mustard flavor is super strong so it might easily overpower a simple turkey sandwich.

Dukes Real Mayonnaise

I know people in the South absolutely love this brand because it has zero added sugar and a really thick texture. It just tastes a little too neutral for my personal liking but it definitely gets the job done when you need moisture on a burger.

Spectrum Organic Mayonnaise

Blending olive oil and soy oil sounds super fancy but the final taste is honestly just boring and a bit flat. It also comes out of the jar in weird little clumps instead of being smooth so it does not look very appetizing.

Wegmans Store Brand Mayonnaise

People go crazy for this grocery store and their store brand mayo looks exactly like the classic stuff you grew up eating. The flavor is just a bit muted compared to the big names but you get a huge jar for a great price.

Primal Kitchen Avocado Oil Mayo

This one uses avocado oil instead of cheap seed oils which gives it a really earthy and nutty flavor profile. It tastes super eggy and dense but it really needs a little more acid to balance out all that heavy fat.

Kewpie Japanese Mayonnaise

This stuff comes in a fun squeeze bottle and uses a blend of different vinegars to give it a slightly sweet and savory taste. It has a custard like texture that tastes amazing with Asian dishes but it might taste a bit funny on a regular cold cut sub.

Sir Kensingtons Classic Mayonnaise

You can tell this is a fancy option because it uses sunflower oil and it tastes richer than almost anything else on the shelf. The texture is super silky and perfect for a high end egg salad but it does cost quite a bit more money.

Trader Joes Organic Mayonnaise

This is a massive win because it is fully organic and super affordable with a really bright and lively flavor. It holds its shape perfectly and tastes amazing in coleslaw without feeling too heavy on your stomach.

Woodstock Organic Mayonnaise

You might not know this brand but they add a little bit of white mustard and lemon juice to make it taste fresh and perfectly balanced. It has that classic creamy color and gives you top tier ingredients without completely breaking the bank.

Hellmanns Real Mayonnaise

It is no surprise that this classic jar takes the absolute top spot because the balance of egg and tangy vinegar is just perfect. The texture is always smooth and reliable and it truly sets the standard for how mayonnaise is supposed to taste every single time.
