Secrets Resorts are known for couples-only, all-inclusive luxury in beautiful beach destinations. Using World of Hyatt points to book these stays is a very popular strategy for travelers looking to save money. We will look at twelve popular Secrets properties to see if burning your hard-earned points is actually a good deal.
Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya

This place is famous for the sea turtles right on the beach which is just incredible because you can snorkel right from the shore with them. The food options felt pretty good to me overall and some of the restaurants were great although others were just okay which is normal for an all inclusive I think. It does cost a decent amount of points so you have to decide if that is the right move for your balance.
Secrets Cap Cana Resort & Spa

Situated in an exclusive gated community in the Dominican Republic this resort sits on a stunning beach with really soft white sand that many people say is simply gorgeous. It is usually a higher category resort so it takes more points per night but booking with points can definitely save you a huge amount of cash here. I felt like the dining options were varied and good enough and I usually found something decent that I enjoyed.
Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun

If you really love a massive very perfectly maintained beach that looks exactly like a postcard then this might be your perfect choice for a trip. This resort often requires a lot of points because it is so popular and highly rated but many travelers find the very good service and the beautiful quiet vibe worth the extra cost. When it comes to the food I thought it was balanced and acceptable with some good choices and fair breakfast selections.
Secrets Moxché Playa del Carmen

This is one of the newer Secrets and it is super trendy with a more modern design and unique features like rooftop pools and cool water lagoons. Because it is so new and stylish the points price is usually very high and it can be hard to find availability sometimes. As for the dining I felt like they tried hard on the presentations and the food tasted pretty good although perhaps not always super amazing considering how expensive the place feels.
Secrets St. Martin Resort & Spa

Over in St Martin you get this resort tucked into a very quiet and beautiful cove that makes you feel relaxed as soon as you arrive. Using points here is an excellent option because cash prices for standard rooms can be really expensive in peak season on this island. I thought the food was fine and I liked some of the French inspired items although some other dishes seemed a bit simple and not every restaurant hit the mark.
Secrets Papagayo Costa Rica

For a totally different atmosphere this resort is built right into a mountainside in a lush bay with a unique black sand beach and amazing sunsets. Costa Rica cash prices can get expensive so this is a really nice way to use your Hyatt points although the resort is very spread out and involves walking hills. I thought the buffet was okay and the themed dinners were fine enough for my taste so it felt decent overall.
Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay

Jamaica always has a fun vibe and this resort shares amenities with the neighboring Secrets St. James right next door so you get twice as many pool and restaurant choices. It is a very solid use of points for an island destination that is easy to fly to and usually the point requirements are relatively moderate compared to other higher end resorts. The jerk chicken at lunch was fantastic to me and the general dinner options seemed satisfactory and good enough for what I needed.
Secrets The Vine Cancun

Located in the heart of the bustling hotel zone this is a high rise building and it looks much more modern and slick than your traditional beach resort style. It is an amazing value using points when you consider how high the cash rates go for a luxury all inclusive in that specific location. In my opinion the food choices were good and I appreciated having easy access to nice dining inside the hotel without having to leave.
Secrets Vallarta Bay Puerto Vallarta

You get great ocean views from basically every room at this tower property that is located very conveniently close to the charming downtown area of Puerto Vallarta. Using points for this location is usually a great redemption value and gives you the perfect chance to split your time between all inclusive relaxing and exploring the local town outside. As for the food I thought it was okay here with some good experiences and I did not have any major issues finding something I liked to eat.
Secrets Cabo San Lucas Resort & Spa

If you want to be right near the famous marina and the nightlife but still have an all inclusive private resort feeling then this fits perfectly. The points cost is typically reasonable for what you get and it lets you enjoy the unique Cabo vibe without paying the very steep cash prices of nearby luxury hotels. I thought the dining was decent enough and enjoyable and I especially liked grabbing drinks with the stunning ocean view.
Secrets Aura Cozumel

This resort is a very quiet and calm place to stay. It is on an island perfect for people who love swimming with fish. Since the buildings are older, you can book a room for fewer points. The food is okay but not fancy.
Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana

Located on a very lively beach with turquoise waters this is a larger and more modern feeling resort that caters to people who like having more activity options available during the day. It is often a moderate points price which is fantastic considering it has nice rooms and is an all inclusive in a major destination like Punta Cana. I felt like the buffet was actually pretty good and the specialty restaurants were enjoyable enough so the food was fine to me overall.
