What’s going on, everyone! I finally tracked down the Big Arch burger that McDonald’s has been testing in some places because you know I had to see if it lives up to the hype for us. Here is my honest breakdown of how this new, giant burger actually stacks up.
It Is Seriously A Huge Burger

This thing is massive and definitely larger than your standard Big Mac or Quarter Pounder with Cheese. You really feel the weight of it in your hand when you pick it up which is a big change for McDonald’s.
You Get Double The Beef Patties

The Big Arch features two fresh beef patties that are bigger than what you usually get on a regular burger here. It provides a very filling and meaty experience with every bite you take.
That Famous Big Arch Sauce

Okay so let’s talk about the sauce because it really brings everything together and it tastes creamy and slightly tangy which is quite pleasant and unique to this specific burger. It is not exactly like the classic Big Mac sauce but it definitely has its own nice vibe going on that adds a lot of flavor to the meat and buns.
Crispy Onions Add Nice Crunch

One of my favorite details about this whole burger has to be the crispy fried onions scattered inside which give you a nice little satisfying crunch with every mouthful. They add a really decent texture break and a subtle salty onion flavor that works perfectly with the soft bun.
White Processed Cheese Melted Well

They decided to go with two slices of white processed cheese for this one instead of the standard yellow kind you often see on their other burgers. It melts down really nicely over the beef patties making everything extra gooey and rich in texture which is something many people will probably enjoy a lot.
The Special Brioche Bun

The bun is definitely different too because it is a slightly sweeter brioche style bun that holds everything together surprisingly well despite how heavy all the toppings are inside. It is softer than the regular sesame seed buns and has a nice sheen on top that makes the whole burger look better.
Slivers And Pickles Oh My

On top of the crispy onions they also add regular slivered onions and some classic crinkle cut pickles which gives you a strong onion flavor overall and that nice vinegary kick that you need sometimes to cut through the richness of the meat and cheese. It’s a lot going on flavor wise but it seems to work.
It Is A Pretty Heavy Meal

This is not a burger to grab for a quick light snack because it is very filling and substantial. You should probably be really hungry before you decide to take this massive sandwich on.
Final Thoughts On Value

Overall my friends I think it is a really solid option if you are looking for a huge burger that fills you up but just keep in mind that it is also one of the more expensive items on the menu so it might not be an everyday kind of thing for everyone’s budget.
