I Spent a Day Exploring the Cheapest Places in Las Vegas

You might think that visiting Las Vegas requires having plenty of cash to spend. Most folks believe it is just a place for the rich to party. I decided to go and see for myself if that is right. I spent a full day searching for budget places. It turns out you can do so much without paying high prices. It was great.

The Bellagio Conservatory And Botanical Gardens

I stepped into a giant glass building and loved the garden. They use thousands of fresh flowers to make big sculptures that change throughout the year. You can walk around and take photos for free. It is a nice break from the very expensive strip nearby.

Ocean One Bar And Grille

You might think finding a lunch for under six dollars is impossible in Vegas but this spot inside the Miracle Mile Shops actually serves full meals for that price. I grabbed a burger and fries and even with a drink the bill was so low I thought they made a mistake.

The Pinball Hall Of Fame

This place is basically a giant warehouse filled with retro pinball machines and since entrance is free you only spend quarters on the games you actually want to play. I spent about five bucks here and played for an hour on machines that I haven’t seen since I was a kid.

The Fremont Street Experience

Walking down this famous street is completely free and the overhead light show that plays every night is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. You can just stand there with a drink and watch the massive screen above you while bands play live music on the stages nearby.

Seven Magic Mountains

I drove just outside the city to see these seven towers of colorful stacked boulders and they look even more impressive in person than they do in pictures. It is completely free to park and walk right up to the art installation which makes it a perfect quick trip away from the casino noise.

Ellis Island Casino And Brewery

Locals kept telling me about the steak special here and I finally tried it and couldn’t believe I got a full steak dinner for such a low price. The vibe is super old school and relaxed and the food tastes way better than what you get at some of the fancy overpriced buffets.

The Flamingo Wildlife Habitat

I visited the garden behind the Flamingo hotel and saw birds by the water. It is a great place to relax when the town gets busy. You do not have to pay anything to go in because this nice spot is free for you.

The Welcome To Fabulous Las Vegas Sign

You can’t visit this city without stopping at the iconic sign and since it is a public landmark you just have to wait in line to get your picture. I went early in the morning to beat the crowd and got a classic photo without spending any money at all.

The Shelby Heritage Center

If you like cars you have to check out this museum because they offer free tours where you can get up close to some of the most famous American muscle cars ever built. I learned so much about the history of racing and it was cool to see the workshop where they actually work on the vehicles.
